When you check in for the meal plan the kitchen team will note any allergies. Since everything is made from scratch it will be easy to identify. Occasionally we will offer a prepared item like hummus or salsa, and in that case we would rely on reading the label or avoiding that item. The meal plan is served buffet style, with a large variety so you can help yourself to any and all the deliciousness on offer.
The food is lovingly prepared in the camp kitchen. Joy and her assistant make every effort to keep things separate and clean but it’s the playa - if a trace of nut could be dangerous or a bowl serving vegan food was previously used for for something containing dairy, you may want to go solo. This is only for people who are very strict or concerned about food/kitchen conditions.
For the ‘average’ consumer, the kitchen is kept at a high standard of cleanliness and would certainly pass a hygiene inspection. We’re just putting this out there for those people who really, really care about where their food is prepared.
